How to use FileZilla to upload your website

Overview

Attention
  • Where domainname.com replace to your domain name.
  • If you have problems with connecting to your website, Please check and make sure that your local internet settings (Firewall, Anti-Virus, IE Internet Options Security Settings) won't block you from connecting to the server on Port: 21.
  • Unless default file on httpdocs and httpsdocs, Please DO NOT delete ANY directory or files that have been created by the system, otherwise your web site may disappear into cyber oblivion!
  • Please note that the FTP username and passwords are case sensitive.
  • If you failed to login 10 times within 60 minutes, Your IP will be locked for security reasons, Please try next hour again.

Making a new connection.

To configure FileZilla to connect to your website please click on the small computer icon on top left.

A Site Manager window will show up.

Click on New Site button and enter a name for the new connection settings. (It can be really anything, it's just so that you know where it takes you to ;)).

Now you need to fill in the connection details.

1. Please enter host name. (e.g. ftp.domainname.com)
2. Your Server Type is FTP. Logontype is Normal.
3. Username and password should be provided to you in Setup Information e-mail from Focus Network Company.
4. Once you're sure the settings are correct click Connect button.

You will see the folders of your site on the left side of the screen.
Your upload folder is httpdocs.

Now find (your website)files you want to upload on your local machine.

Simply select the files and drag-and-drop them to the right of the screen.

You will notice the transfer progress on the bottom of the screen.

If all is OK, your FileZilla window will show the files you uploaded on the right.
